DFSK is back in the UK after appointing a new importer and distributor.

The new Vehicle Import & Distribution Ltd company has been established by Bassadone Automotive, which also owns the UK importer and distributor of SsangYong 4×4 cars and light commercials, and will initially sell four models in the UK, covering the C31 single cab minitruck, C32 double cab minitruck, C35 panel van and the C37 minivan and powered by 1.5-litre Euro 6B petrol engines.

Sales will start this summer with UK prices yet to be announced but expected to start from below £10,000.

Doug Lincoln, operations director of the new company, said: “We believe there is a huge opportunity for DFSK in the UK. From small independent businesses through to local authorities, cost-saving and value-for-money is today’s mantra. Why pay more when a DFSK delivers such a great return on investment?

“We particularly see huge opportunities in metropolitan areas where the vehicles’ compact size, manoeuvrability and economical petrol engines are ideal for short, stop-start urban journeys.”

Dealership details have not been announced but DFSK said there will be a network of service centres nationwide, with retail outlets located strategically.
