The service provides fleet management and maintenance to a range of departments within Dorset County Council and operates across two main workshops and six outlying depots.
The company was previously using an inhouse system but wanted to increase the level of information it could hold and generate about its fleet, especially workshop performance and fleet costs.
Following a procurement exercise the council chose FleetWave, with Emily Smith, senior fleet technical officer, adding: ‘FleetWave has now been in place for over eight months and we are very pleased with the degree of visibility and reporting functionality that it provides. It is working very well for us.
‘In the near future, we are planning to increase our reporting capabilities by adopting a number of other modules to help us manage amongst other things our specialist plant assets, fleet finances and enhance our driver information.’
Ashley Sowerby, managing director at Chevin (pictured), said: ‘Our work with public sector fleets has been a traditional Chevin strength and we are very pleased to be working with Dorset County Council’s Dorset Highways Operations.’
