DPD gives eLCV drivers enhanced charging access in Paua deal

Parcel delivery company DPD has teamed up with EV charge card Paua to enhance charging accessibility for its growing number of EV drivers.

The deal ensures DPD drivers can conveniently charge their vehicles wherever their routes take them

DPD is working to be the most sustainable parcel delivery company in the UK and is on track to have over 4,000 electric vehicles on the road by the end of 2023.

The new collaboration gives its electric van drivers access to Paua’s network of more than 20,000 charge points and over 39,000 connectors across 13,000+ locations and spanning more than 25 UK charge point operators. These include InstaVolt and PoGo following recent deals.

The charge point access, available both via a physical card and a mobile app, ensures that DPD drivers can conveniently charge their vehicles wherever their routes take them.

“We are thrilled to partner with DPD, a pioneering company in sustainable delivery solutions,” said Niall Riddell, CEO and co-founder at Paua. “This collaboration allows us to further support DPD’s ‘clean, green delivery’ mission by providing their EV drivers with seamless access to our extensive charging network.”

DPD is rapidly expanding its EV fleet to meet its ambitious SBTi (Science Based Target Initiative) verified target of net zero by 2040. This target aligns DPD’s decarbonisation plans with climate science and Paris agreement goals, while shaping the future of clean and efficient parcel delivery.

“Partnering with Paua is an exciting step as we continue to grow our all-electric delivery fleet” said Olly Craughan, head of sustainability at DPD. “Paua’s extensive charging network, combined with their user-friendly app and physical card, empowers our EV drivers to access charging infrastructure with ease, supporting the efficiency and sustainability of our operations.”
