DPF cleaning specialist to present cost-saving proposition at Silverstone Fleet Show

The company, which has over 16 years’ experience in the motor parts reconditioning industry, says that cleaning DPF units instead of having to fork out for expensive replacement parts can provide a far more cost-effective maintenance option for fleet operators and will be showing this to visitors at theFleet World Fleet Show, which takes place at Silverstone on 12 May.

DPF Clean Team, which is located in the East Midlands, has sought worldwide best practice and undergone extensive training to be able to offer fleets its unique DPF cleaning services.

The company’s core business is cleaning both DPFs and catalytic convertor filters for cars, commercial vehicles, HGVs and also plant machinery. It also stocks a comprehensive range of used OM and new silicon carbide DPFs, all with a minimum six months guarantee.

The company uses different cleaning processes , depending on the type of DPF or SCR unit. The process employed for most cars and light commercial vehicles utilises state-of-the-art ultrasonic cleaning technology in an ISO 9001, six-step cleaning system using powerful non-flammable chemicals available only to specialists. The process takes four hours to complete leaving the DPF in nearly  new condition.

Cameron Bryce, director of DPF Clean Team, which already works with many of the UK's car supermarkets, Leicestershire Metropolitan Police Force, Avis and Europcar, said: “There is a strong link between CO2 output and fleet costs because emissions are proportional to the volume of fuel a vehicle burns, as many are aware.

“What people may not be aware of is that, just like any other component on their vehicles, the DPF unit requires regular maintenance and cleaning because the cost of replacement can be high. Regular checks and cleaning can also improve efficiencies, which can fall as the unit gets clogged, an extremely important consideration for fleet managers looking to keep costs on an even keel throughout the year.”

The company added that its competitive pricing structure means that a one-off clean collected and returned to the fleet could cost far less than a replacement DPF. This service carries a six-month no-quibble guarantee, which fleets can extend at an additional cost.

The new equipment not only cleans DPFs, but the dry-cleaning process is also used for a host of different automotive components that can be expensive to replace if they become worn.

At the Fleet World Fleet Show, DPF Clean Team will be on hand to explain its services and also its new referral scheme that means companies can receive up to £30 in Capital Bond or M&S vouchers, either for referring DPF or for being referred for their first clean.
