Drivetech launches free health check tool to help fleet slash road risks

A new free-to-use health check tool that can help fleets manage and reduce road risk is now available from Drivetech.

The tool generates recommendations to address specific duty of care issues

Dubbed Pulse Light, it covers all types of vehicles – along with policies, drivers and journeys – and enables managers to identify and prioritise compliance and duty of care issues.

The tool has been designed to be simple and quick for businesses to use; fleets fill out an online questionnaire that takes around 30 minutes to complete. A trained assessor will then create a customised report and action plan, supplied within 10 working days.

The results are easily interpretable, using a red/green status and featuring recommendations to address specific issues in priority order, including best practices and consequences of non-compliance.

It also covers employee-owned cars used on company business – the so-called ‘grey fleet’ – which come under the same employer duty of care as company vehicles but are often less stringently managed.

Not only can the action plans from the solution help fleets address road risk but they can also achieve longer-term cost benefits by reducing vehicle off-road time and providing insurance savings.

Nick Butler, director of Drivetech, said: “Our brand-new, completely free service supports the full spectrum of business management needs, from cars to commercial vehicles, providing comprehensive solutions that deliver for both specialist and grey fleet.

“By implementing our customised action plans, businesses can also benefit from reduced insurance premiums and operational costs – they are entirely win-win.”
