Drivetech, part of the AA, has launched a new package to help fleets tackle road risk management.
Dubbed Drivetech Consult, it brings together the company’s experience and expertise in safety and compliance to help businesses reduce accidents, enhance driver safety and wellbeing, and ultimately save money too.
It’s aimed at car and van operators and provides support for both dedicated fleet managers as well as those who are absorbing fleet management into their existing roles and finding driver safety a difficult area to navigate. Common challenges for fleets include the constantly changing face of regulatory or driving guidance, such as updates to the Highway Code, the introduction of new clean air zones, local changes to speed limits and the arrival of low traffic neighbourhoods, potentially exposing businesses to legal and financial risk.
Many companies are also unaware of their responsibilities when it comes to looking after employees that drive their own vehicles for work, i.e., the so-called grey fleet. This requires businesses to stay on top of legal and regulatory standards, such as valid insurance and vehicle inspections. Failing to meet these requirements can result in fines and legal consequences for the employer.
The new package is designed to help businesses ensure compliance and keep drivers safe, providing solutions and a bespoke consultancy approach that ensures a business remains adaptable to regulatory changes, market conditions and evolving technology. This includes the electric vehicle transition, which will also be supported by Drivetech Consult.
The new solution is being led by Drivetech consultant Anthony Marcou, who said: “Every single business is unique, with its own challenges and goals for the future. Customised fleet management solutions such as Drivetech Consult can help deliver significant improvements in operational efficiency in this area by helping businesses to identify specific pain points and individual risks, reducing the potential for accidents, helping to improve efficiency and preventing avoidable costs or reputational damage.”
