Driving for Better Business launches free online fleet risk assessment tool

Fleets can now access a free online risk assessment tool that will highlight any issues with compliance and highlight ways to streamline operations.

The fleet risk check tool asks 50 questions covering four key areas of fleet operations – the driver, the vehicle, the journey and the company.

Mainly aimed at SMEs but also suitable for larger fleets, the tool has been created for the Driving for Better Business campaign, in association with fleet software specialist FleetCheck and the Freight Transport Association’s (FTA)’s Van Excellence best practice programme.

Available at www.fleetriskcheck.co.uk, it asks 50 questions covering four key areas of fleet operations – the driver, the vehicle, the journey and the company.

From this information, it produces an individual work-related road risk self-assessment report containing actions and information designed to improve your fleet safety.

Peter Golding, managing director at FleetCheck, said: “We believe that this is a very worthwhile project that could have a definite impact on safety for many fleets that currently have a poor understanding of risk.”
