Ebay to send newly converted 1975 Mk1 Ford Transit up Goodwood hillclimb

Ebay will take part in Goodwood Festival of Speed’s iconic hillclimb for the first time at this year’s event with the help of a newly converted 1975 Ford Transit.

George Clarke and the eBay Lounge

The online automotive marketplace will send the Mk1 Transit up the famous Hill on Thursday 11 July with TV presenter and architect George Clarke behind the wheel.

The converted Transit was designed with the help of Peter Stevens, designer of the McLaren F1. Named the eBay Lounge, it has been restored using period-correct running gear, brakes and suspension, all sourced from eBay, with the interior undergoing extensive changes, allowing it to operate as a pop-up eBay Store and event support vehicle.

Ebay will also seek to ignite the DIY spirit of attendees with its interactive ‘Garage’ stand space, featuring a series of talks with content creators and restorers.

Entries are currently open for eBay’s 2024 Van Conversion of the Year Awards, now in their second year and once again seeking to find the UK’s most beautifully executed, space efficient and intelligent LCV conversions.

The Van Conversion of the Year Awards are supported again by TV presenter and architect George Clarke and open for entries here.
