Ecolab awards major fleet order to Peugeot

Peugeot has supplied Ecolab with a fleet of car and vans under a major new four-year contract.

The vehicles are being provided on a four-year contract through Ecolab’s global leasing partner LeasePlan

Ecolab, which provides water, hygiene and energy technologies and services, operates circa 5,000 vehicles across its European operations. It has around 1,000 vehicles in the UK and Ireland of which over 400 are dedicated LCVs.

The new vehicles have been funded by LeasePlan UK on a deal bringing maintenance and accident management, and include 3008 SUV and 308 SW models for Ecolab’s company car drivers.

The new LCV fleet is made up of Partner and Expert vans, replacing vehicles supplied by another manufacturer for a number of years. The vans have all been professionally converted by racking specialist Tevo to meet Ecolab’s operational user requirements and will be used for the company’s Pest and Water Divisions, with some vehicles used at Ecolab’s manufacturing sites

“Ecolab needs efficient, fit for purpose vehicles providing optimum whole life cost,” said Gerallt Williams, Ecolab country manager for the UK and Ireland and European safety and security manager. “The Partner has proven reliability, competitive fuel efficiency and meets our objectives with regard to sustainability. Furthermore, warranty and goodwill support from Groupe PSA with regard to technical issues is second to none.”

“Winning the Ecolab fleet business from a major competitor that had kept the business for 10 years is a really important achievement for us,” added Groupe PSA fleet director Martin Gurney. “We know how competitive the Peugeot LCV range is where reliability and whole-life costs are concerned and it means a great deal when a customer is so enthusiastic about the benefits this will bring them. We are looking forward to working with Ecolab as the company expands its operations in the UK and across Europe.”
