Nissan’s electric Townstar van has arrived for UK fleets, priced from £28,400 (CV OTR after PiVG).
Revealed in 2021, the compact van is offered in both electric and petrol forms, providing a successor to both the e-NV200 and the NV250.
Offered in both short-and long-wheelbase forms, the Townstar EV is the latest addition to Nissan’s electrified line-up, helping businesses accelerate the transition towards electrification.
It features a 122hp motor, giving 245Nm of torque, while the 45kWh battery delivers a WLTP range of 183 miles.
The battery can be charged at 11kW or 22kW AC, depending on grade, or 75k DC, the latter giving a charge from 15% to 80% in as little as 37 minutes.
The Townstar EV also offers a payload of between 600 and 800kg and towing capacity of up to 1,500kg, plus 3.3 to 4.3m3 of cargo-carrying capacity – enough to carry two Euro pallets starting from the short wheelbase version.
It’s offered in three grades: Acenta, Tekna and Tekna+. Tech features include an on-board connectivity service and 10-inch digital instrument panel, depending on the trim, along with automatic climate control, heated steering wheel and a heat pump, which improves both efficiency and comfort in colder temperatures by distributing heat from the battery into the cabin.
Available active and passive safety technologies for include Blind Spot Warning, Hands-Free Parking, Active Cruise Control, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Side Wind Assist and Trailer Sway Assist.
The Townstar EV will also debut Nissan’s ProPilot Assist advanced driving assistance system to the LCV line-up and will feature the brand’s Intelligent Around View Monitor (AVM).
It comes with the standard Nissan LCV five-year/100,000-mile warranty, plus an eight-year warranty on the battery state of health up to 70%.
