The company, part of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, will more than double the number of vehicles based in the city from six to 15.
The new vehicles are stationed all around central Birmingham. Two are near the Broadway property development at Fiveways, providing on-site mobility for residents in a location where parking for private cars is at a premium.
Another is at the University of Birmingham, in the designated Green Travel District between the train station and hospital while three of the cars will be based at Birmingham city centre branches of Enterprise Rent-A-Car to provide a further mobility solution.
Keith Kelly, business development sales manager at Enterprise Car Club, said: “Accessing services like car hire where and when we need it is an increasingly important part of all our lives. Car club vehicles are fast becoming a must-have for urban dwellers, particularly in areas where parking is a challenge.
“Access to a ‘virtual car’ means business and residents no longer have to worry if they don’t have a vehicle when they need one. We see this expansion plan as an important step in delivering car club services across the city, and wherever possible, integrated with local transport hubs and services.”
