Enterprise Rent-A-Car introduces seven-day opening for fleets

The move follows a successful trial in 2012, at 11 locations in Greater London and another seven around the UK, which saw a hugely positive response from both corporate and private customers.

This demand has prompted Enterprise to expand seven-day opening to a much wider section of its branch network. The 50 plus locations have been selected for their proximity to highly populated business areas and commuter belts.

This initiative is in addition to the company's 17 UK airport location, all of which already operate seven days a week.

Mike Nigro, managing director UK & Ireland at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, said: ‘Seven-day opening is one of the most immediately successful programmes we’ve ever introduced. The initial trial period showed extremely high demand for both collection and drop-off of rental cars over the weekend.

It’s not just airport branches that need to service customers seven days a week. The ability to return vehicles on a Sunday rather than waiting until Monday will naturally help businesses to further control their travel costs, while customers who need rental vehicles urgently for Monday will be able to acquire them immediately. It offers an even more flexible approach to car and van hire.’

The branches involved will begin their weekend opening over the next six months.

Nigro continued: ‘Flexibility is a vital part of an effective car hire service. Weekend opening will allow these branches, located in key towns and cities around the UK, to offer swift service and vehicle availability to local and national businesses alike.

‘With rental rapidly becoming the go-to transport option for organisations and private individuals alike, demand is on the rise and is set to grow even more. Branches that are open for vehicle rentals and returns throughout the week are a logical next step towards meeting those requirements.’
