The Energy Saving Trust has published an updated version of its guide to Lowering Van Emissions and Costs.
The guide offers straightforward advice to help organisations choose the best vans to suit their needs, considering the fuel type, fuel economy, size and payload requirements, and more.
Funded by the Department for Transport, this guide advises on what sustainable replacements there are available for conventional vans, such as electric vans, e-cargo bikes, and micro vehicles.
Subjects covered include how to decide whether electric vans are suitable for your fleet, how to build a business case for these changes, and what charging infrastructure is required.
The guide also features case studies from Unitmovements and Leeds City Council on the benefits of going electric.
The updated van guide is part of the Fleet Management Toolkit, which provides information and resources to help lower costs while reducing carbon emissions from your organisation’s vehicles and employee travel.
Depending on fleet size and vehicle types, organisations can also get a free Green Fleet Review from Energy Saving Trust, which provide personal, detailed fleet analysis and recommendations for managing mileage and fuel, adopting electric vehicles, air quality, or reducing grey fleet use.
