Euroloo optimises vehicles with integrated fleet management and dashcam solution

Euroloo has cut costs and streamlined its UK fleet with the help of an integrated fleet management and dashcam solution from Geotab and Surecam.

Euroloo’s integrated fleet management and dashcam solution has delivered safety, productivity and sustainability improvements

The national toilet hire provider has seven hubs across the UK, offering a local service with nationwide capabilities thanks to its fleet of more than 65 vehicles.

Euroloo had previously used fleet telematics but found the offering was limited. It was seeking a combined fleet management and dashcam solution that would help gain greater control and oversight of vehicles and drivers.

In September 2022, the company had Geotab GO9 telematics devices fitted across the entire fleet of vehicles, together with Surecam dash and rear-facing cameras, serviced and delivered by LEVL Telematics.

The operations team now use the MyGeotab fleet management platform to get access to reports for all of their key performance indicators, including fuel efficiency (mpg), idling and driver performance. The data is fully flexible and accessible, allowing ‘slicing and dicing’ to Euroloo’s exact needs while actual route telematics data can be compared against planned routes and KPIs to optimise the fleet.

Meanwhile, the dash camera footage is being used to mitigate false insurance claims, assess and control driver behaviour and provide training opportunities. And thanks to the complete integration between MyGeotab and SureCam, videos from any road traffic incidents or driver events are available for the team to view in the office within seconds. The live view feature has also proved useful to guide drivers to remote or hard-to-find sites.

Rob Murrells, finance and operations director at Euroloo, commented: “With data from MyGeotab and dash camera footage, we now have all the information about what is happening out there, so that we can make better use of our assets, and make the best economies out of what we are spending on our trucks.”

It’s delivered measurable improvements across the board, in areas from productivity to safety and sustainability of the fleet.

Results include a 22% reduction in idling fuel consumption, a 52% reduction in harsh braking events and a 41% reduction in harsh acceleration events.

Thanks to the video evidence, the team have also been able to disprove all false or contentious insurance claims so far, proving that they were not at fault, or the damage was already on the third-party vehicle.

Rob Murrells added: “We now have the facts to deal with any unusual situations that occur, instead of dealing with recollections. We can now pinpoint exactly what happened, when and why, which is a massive help.”

David Savage, vice president for UK & Ireland at Geotab, commented: “Geotab is proud to work with Euroloo, who in less than a year have seen measurable improvements across the board. Thanks to the complete integration between MyGeotab and SureCam, videos from any road traffic incidents or driver events are available for the entire Euroloo team to view within seconds.

“We firmly believe that in-cab camera technology provides value for customers looking to improve vehicle safety and efficiency. With the added data-rich input provided by the GO9 telematics device and the MyGeotab management platform, the team now have access to all their data in one central location.”

Surecam partnership director Sam Footer added: “Fleet operators are increasingly looking to the market for technology systems that combine both telematics and connected dashcams. The Surecam and Geotab integration is a best-in-class solution that delivers many business and operational benefits with a clear return on investment.”
