Europcar renews partnership with Matt Hampson Foundation

Europcar Mobility Group UK and the Matt Hampson Foundation have renewed their partnership for a second consecutive year.

The Europcar Mercedes Sprinter donated to the Foundation has already covered more than 12,000 miles and will continue to provide essential logistical support for the charity’s events and day-to-day operations across 2025.

Europcar will also support the support the Foundation on team building days at the Get Busy Living Centre, as well as offering premium rates for beneficiaries’ friends and families.

The vehicle rental firm will also give a donation for every booking made using the supporter rate.

The Foundation was started by former England Under 21s Rugby Union player, Matt Hampson OBE, after an accident in training in 2005 left him with life-changing injuries.

The charity aims to inspire and support young people seriously injured through sport and counts Mike Tindall MBE as its patron, as well as a line-up of ambassadors that includes  professional rugby players, other sports people and celebrities.

The co-branded Mercedes Sprinter supplied by Europcar has helped the Foundation transfer an assortment of materials to fundraising and awareness events throughout the year, including a 100-mile sponsored walk, the UK’s first adaptive cross-fit event exclusively for wheelchair users and the London Marathon.

The long-wheelbase van has also been invaluable in moving essential equipment, including a Paragolfer buggy which provides mobility on any golf course; very few golf courses have this specialist equipment available.

Matt Hampson said: “Europcar has become a valued partner of the Foundation. As well as allowing us to direct more of our funding into helping beneficiaries, the kind donation of the van means we can help young people who are getting busy living after life-changing injury. It enables us to move equipment where people need it most as well as support fundraising and awareness events all over the country.”

Gary Smith, managing director at Europcar Mobility Group UK, added: “The work of the Matt Hampson Foundation is inspirational and we are delighted to be able to continue helping with the logistics through the supply of our vehicle. As a busy organisation, committed to helping people who have suffered life-changing injuries to carry on living full lives, access to a suitable vehicle is critical. With its co-branding, the van not only helps with day-to-day mobility but also raises awareness of the Foundation’s work wherever it goes.”
