Based in Birtley, in County Durham, the new store has 150 used vans, tippers and Lutons available onsite to view and test drive but also enables customers to search the dealer’s entire 3,000-strong used van group stock offering.

The new facility also has SMART and paint repairs facilities, an MOT centre and valeting services, and offers dedicated LCV professionals on site as well as the Buy Your Van service.

The Birtley site is also a Renault-authorised repair centre, offering service, parts and specialist repairs not for any make of LCV.

The new Van Store joins the retailer’s existing Car Store and dealership network – in total Evans Halshaw has more than 140 retailers across the UK – and has been launched in response to increasing used van demand and also due to the success of the existing Car Store brand, with the possibility of further Van Stores on the cards in the future.

The launch of the new Van Store comes a month after parent firm Pendragon announced that it would ramp up its focus on its UK used car business, including divesting itself of its US operation and reducing the numbers of its UK premium brand franchise locations, following a profit warning some six weeks prior.
