Fiat Doblò to get world premiere at Hanover

Although pictures of the fourth-generation Doblò will not be issued until the first day of the show, Fiat Professional has announced details of the new model, which offers a fully restyled interior and exterior design, the availability of three seats, a torque response improved by up to 40% and, says the brand, the best road-handling and driving comfort in its class thanks to bi-link suspension and segment-beating load capacity and volume.

In addition, the range is further extended thanks to the new "EcoJet" version that combines low fuel consumption and reduced running costs.

The new Fiat Professional commercial vehicle offers a fully restyled interior and exterior design, with a new multi-functional front bench seat that provides three front seats and conceals a practical and generous storage compartment. In addition, the middle seat can be folded down and used as an armrest or a practical document holder, while the passenger seat can also be folded down in order to carry long items and anchor them to practical retaining hooks in the back of the seat.

The new Doblò uses independent Bi-link rear suspension, which delivers superior comfort and road handling in all driving conditions.

The engine range comprises six turbo diesels – 1.3 MultiJet II (75 and 90PS) 200Nm, 1.6 MultiJet II (100 and 105PS) 290Nm, 90PS 1.6 MultiJet II 200Nm with robotised gearbox and 135PS 2.0 MultiJet II 320Nm – and three petrol engines: 95PS 1.4 127Nm, 120PS 1.4 TurboJet 206Nm and 120PS 1.4 TurboJet 206Nm dual fuel (petrol/methane).

For the 1.3 litre and 1.6 litre turbo diesel engines, the torque response has been enhanced: allowing higher torque to be produced at low revs (on the 1.3 MJet this has increased by approximately 40%) and consequently greater flexibility and quicker engine response times. The 90PS 1.3 MultiJet II and 105PS 1.6 MultiJet II engines are also available in the "EcoJet" version and they offer a considerable reduction in terms of fuel consumption and emission levels, thanks to the use of the Start&Stop system, low rolling resistance tyres, low-viscosity oil, "smart" alternator, variable displacement oil pump and aerodynamic pack. As a result, the new Doblò offers fuel consumption levels of up to 4.4l/100km and 115g/km of CO2.

Following the launch, the Traction+ system will also be available.

Available for purchase from early 2015, the new Doblò range comprises four bodies depending on the market (Cargo, Combi, Truck and Flatbed), two height variants and two wheelbase lengths. A total of approximately 200 different chassis types and more than 1,000 possible versions and solutions ranging from vans to rapid fixed-route vehicles, versions converted for specific uses to special vehicles.

At Hanover, Fiat Professional will also show the new Ducato, including the world premiere of the Ducato 140 Natural Power – equipped with the 3-litre (Euro 6) 136PS engine with 350Nm torque powered by methane/petrol dual fuel – which will be available for purchase from early 2015 in the following versions: van, Combi, Panorama and Chassis Cab with load platform, in both the Ducato and Ducato Maxi ranges.
