Fleets are now able to download new guidance from Global Fleet Champions on how to get the maximum benefit from telematics systems.
If used effectively, telematics data can help fleet managers reduce road risk within their organisation, bringing multiple benefits to drivers and the business.
Published as part of Brake’s free-to-join Global Fleet Champions campaign, the new guide outlines how fleet can gather the most relevant information, analyse the data captured and encourage drivers to follow recommendations for safer driving behaviour.
Telematics – What next? features advice from key industry players, including Verizon Connect, who advise fleet managers on how to utilise telematics effectively, including using gamification techniques to engage drivers with the technology.
Meanwhile Selim Cavanagh at insurance firm ingenie talks about a data-driven approach to behavioural change – using telematics to recognise risk patterns and develop positive interventions.
Commenting on the guide, Sarah Plumb, senior fleet officer at Brake, said: “Safe vehicles are vital for safe and healthy journeys and we urge all fleet managers to choose the safest vehicles they can afford, and to utilise technology such as telematics, to help keep drivers and all road users as safe as possible on our roads.”
The guide is available for Global Fleet Champion members for fleet. To find out more about joining up to the campaign, click here.
