First EVs join fleet at Grass Roots

The new vans feature the new Grass Roots “bubbly” branding in the form of vinyl wraps with the slogan “I run on elec-trickery” on the back.

The vehicles have been added to the fleet to support the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility as well as the other green initiatives that the organisation runs in the UK and globally.

The Kangoo Z.E. was selected by Grass Roots’ fleet manager Ian Metcalf following extensive research, with its 100-mile range being an important factor in the decision.

Metcalf commented: ‘The vans meet all our requirements and also look good – especially with the fantastic branding! Renault’s service throughout the transaction, ongoing support and the quality of this product, made them stand out as our top choice.’

Charging points have been installed at the headquarter office at Pennyroyal Court in Tring and at another local office on the other side of the town. A third charging station is to be fitted at the Triangle Business Park location soon. Both vans will be utilised by the facilities team who cover the three sites in the Tring and Wendover area.

John Bunting, chief commercial officer, said: ‘The vans look brilliant! The colourful bubbly brand treatment has had a great reception from clients, suppliers and employees all around the world, and now we can proudly show off our fun-loving and energetic people and brand really effectively. Grass Roots is one of the biggest employers in the local area and the vans will certainly be easy to spot – whether you’ve heard of Grass Roots yet or not.’
