The deal, won following competitive tender, is supported by the ATS Euromaster service network and covers the 65% of vehicles supplied by Fleet Hire with a full repair and maintenance package.
George Reid, technical operations manager for Fleet Hire, said: “Michelin has been our first choice fitment for years; it’s a long-term relationship which benefits both our business and our customers.
“We know from comparing the performance of Michelin tyres with other brands we see on new vehicles that Michelin tyres typically last longer. This helps us to reduce replacement costs and results in less downtime. It’s a win-win situation,” he explained.
Commenting on the tyre fitting service, Reid added: “Our customers appreciate the ability to have their tyres fitted by a mobile technician as it saves the time and hassle of visiting a centre. Retaining this benefit was key to the contract as it helps us to deliver outstanding customer care.”
When a vehicle needs replacement tyres, the driver can visit any ATS Euromaster centre or contact the Fleet Hire driver helpline, which automatically routes tyre-related calls to ATS Euromaster’s customer service centre for directions to the nearest centre, or to book a mobile appointment.
Fleet Hire’s light commercial vehicle customers also benefit from access to a comprehensive roadside rapid response service for tyre-related breakdowns.
