Fleet management company helps RSPCA save over half a million pounds

ARI and the RSPCA worked alongside Tevo, a van fittings company, to improve the functionality of the interior racking system and equipment lifecycle for the fleet’s 686 vans. Accoring to Tevo, the interior fitment can now last three times longer than the average vehicle lifespan, equating to an approximate saving of £900 per van.

In addition, the RSPCA now saves £5,000 per month on planned maintenance costs through use of ARI's network of trusted garages

ARI also connected the RSPCA with a Volkswagen dealer for the supply and delivery of vehicles which, combined with the Tevo build schedule, has reduced the supply time by two days.

Gary Dinsey, fleet account manager at ARI Fleet UK, said: 'This project was incredibly rewarding as the funds previously being spent on van fittings may now be used to support the RSPCA’s primary goal of helping animals.

The RSPCA was moving away from Citroen Vans to Volkswagen, presenting an ideal opportunity for us to work in conjunction with the client and Tevo, to look at the operational requirements and standardise the van interior layout and equipment requirements.'

Vickie Malyon, head of procurement at the RSPCA, added: 'The RSPCA is funded primarily by voluntary donations and legacies and as such, cutting costs was a primary goal in working with ARI. We found ARI’s in-depth knowledge of the industry to be invaluable in making this process not only smooth but cost efficient. Establishing a new supply chain is always challenging but ARI used connections within the industry to ensure the transition went off without a hitch.'
