The OTC is used to provide information for the FTN product catalogue and includes over 160 brands from tyre manufacturers and importers, representing in excess of 70,000 part numbers.
Implementing the system means FTN has access to a wide range of information that helps it to assist fleet customers in making an informed choice about tyre products, their rolling resistance, wet braking and noise characteristics and the alternatives available.
Nick Bennett, Fleet Tyre Network, said: ‘This is a significant step forward. The OTC reflects all the tyre data changes – new, amended and obsolete – on a regular basis, so we will be able to react to these changes and amend our product files quickly and accurately.’
Mike Allen, managing director of CAM Systems, said: ‘The introduction of new labels and other constantly changing product information, amendments to article numbers, changes within categories and movement of tyres from active to non-active products are a daily occurrence. It’s important that tyre dealers are made aware of all these changes and OTC can deliver this accurately so they are fulfilling orders correctly first time, every time.’
