Fleet Service GB online tool speeds up vehicle rental bookings

Fleet Service GB has launched a new tool to streamline the rental management process for cars and vans.

Previously, bookings were made via email or a telephone call but the new rental management tool – accessed via Fleet Service GB’s online customer portal – enables cost centre and fleet managers to go online to make rental requests through Fleet Service GB’s preferred network of suppliers.

Users can submit all the key details required to fulfill a booking requirement including on and off-hire dates, type of vehicle, reason for hire and the name of the person who will be driving the vehicle. The tool will provide a quote based on the daily rate of the vehicle selected and submits the vehicle rental request directly to the Fleet Service GB team.

The process can be tailored to ensure requests are given line manager approval prior to the booking request being processed while managers can also view and manage any live rental.

Further development will allow not only for a vehicle to be supplied according to the processed quote, but will also see the tool provide recommendations on how to reduce the rental cost, based on the daily rate of the vehicle selected and the duration of hire.
