Fleet Show grows again in 2014

The event – which has grown every year since its launch in 2011 – has developed into the UK fleet industry’s most important one-day event, with virtually every major fleet manufacturer represented, alongside a huge range of fleet service providers.

The show takes place on Wednesday 9th April 2014, with an indoor exhibition in the Silverstone Wing, and driving activity on the three different circuits, as well as the off-road track.

Fleet Show organiser Ross Durkin said: ‘We live in an age where internet and email has taken some of the personal contact out of the fleet business arena, but there’s still no substitute for face-to-face meetings and genuine business networking.

‘The buzz in the halls at this year’s Fleet Show was amazing at times, and our aim in 2014 is not only to reproduce this vibrant business environment, but also to build on the success of the 2013 show by adding a number of further attractions.’

The Fleet Show 2014 will once again occupy halls 1, 2 & 3 in the Silverstone Wing, with an improved floorplan, fast-track registration and better access to catering. But the most noticeable change will be outside, where there will be three separate circuits for different driving experiences – National, International and Stowe.

Also new for 2014 is the addition of the off-road circuit where drivers can put a range of 4×4 vehicles through their paces with the help of professional off-road instructors.

The show will host the final of ALD Automotive’s Fleet Driver of the Year competition and this will be integrated within the main exhibition complex, with part of the final taking place on Stowe Circuit.

Durkin commented: ‘We’ve divided the Grand Prix circuit in two this year so that we can offer manufacturers and their clients a wider range of driving experiences – both with and without helmets.

‘Stowe will be used for a range of different activities including active safety demonstrations and eco-driving. The off-road course adds another exciting dimension to the show and we’re working on one more driving activity that will provide a truly memorable experience for visitors. We will also announce a completely new seminar and training element in the New Year.

‘Our aim is to provide an event that is exciting, interesting and memorable, and one which has the right balance between serious educational content, effective fleet networking, interesting fleet services and hands-on driving experiences.’
