Fleet walkaround app gains new safety resources and technology

FleetCheck has enhanced its vehicle walkaround app with safety resources from National Highways and a new technology stack.

The Van Driver Toolkit provides practical advice to LCV drivers on day-to-day safety issues

The addition of the Van Driver Toolkit, created by National Highways through its Driving for Better Business campaign, provides practical advice to LCV drivers on day-to-day safety issues. Fleet managers can easily review which drivers have read the guidance. Meanwhile, the new technology stack delivers an improved interface.

It’s the latest update to the app, first introduced in 2017 and used to carry out more than 10 million car and van walkaround inspections in the last three years.

The Driver app is designed to streamline the inspection process for smaller fleets, removing the need for manual paper trails while also providing additional features such as fit-to-drive declarations, fuel purchase details and incident reporting.

Peter Golding, managing director at FleetCheck, said: “Regular audited vehicle inspections are a fundamental element of fleet management and our Driver app has created an important niche as a vehicle inspection tool for smaller, less complex fleets that want to cover compliance basics.

“The technological enhancements we have added make it easier to use and, thanks to the National Highways driver resources, the app also helps to promote best practice. We’re confident it remains market-leading in delivering robust inspection processes alongside a range of effective, additional safety tools for this sector.”
