FleetEurope helps Orchid make cost-neutral shift to mini-lease

Field marketing agency Orchid has signed a deal with FleetEurope that has enabled it to shift to flexible mini-lease without paying more while also saving thousands on damage costs.

The business previously ran a fleet of VW Transporters and Ford Transit Custom vans on three-year contract hire agreements through a major UK leasing firm but was looking for a more flexible alternative.

Analysis from FleetEurope revealed that Orchid could transfer from long-term leasing to FleetEurope’s SelectPlus service without incurring extra costs. The new fleet – which forms part of a merchandising strategy for global drinks brand Carabao, one of Orchid’s largest clients – also comes with servicing, maintenance, breakdown cover, a dedicated customer service and account management team, plus access to an online vehicle management system, with 24/7 reporting.

The business is also set to save more than £10,000 a year in vehicle damage costs through FleetEurope’s De-Risk service. Awarded the Innovation in Rental title at this year’s Fleet World Honours, the service provides inclusive financial cover for light damage incurred to the vehicles, valued at less than £1,000 to repair, regardless of who is at fault. The cover includes damage to the bodywork, tyres, alloys and windscreen, as well as replacement keys and misfuelling call-outs.

De-Risk will also alleviate the administrative and financial burden of dealing with the claims process for Orchid.

Kelly Milne, recruitment & operations manager at Orchid, commented: “We were looking for a fully managed fleet service that allowed us to off-hire vehicles at short notice without incurring expensive termination charges. SelectPlus was the perfect solution, allowing us the flexibility to make changes to the fleet in-line with the changing needs of our business.”
