The systems also have Garmin integration installed, which enables controllers to communicate with drivers and avoid having to call them when they are on the road.
Additionally, the system allows the firm to schedule routes for the following day and add in an extra job to a given location while en route. The mobile App allows controllers to monitor customer queries and ETAs on the go, while the “Fleet Maintenance” alert function ensures servicing is carried out promptly and at the most opportune time.
‘We decided to implement the GPS vehicle tracking system from Fleetmatics to help us manage our team more effectively. We use the web-based software as an “organisational tool” and it has taken away many of the problems often associated with mobile fleets,’ said Alessandro Maccioni, managing director of the Victory Group.
With the Fleetmatics GPS fleet tracking system in place, the waste collection firm has reported a smoother running process of its fleet and its day to day jobs. ‘We are extremely happy with the Fleetmatics system,’ continued Maccioni. ‘Since the initial installation, everything has gone smoothly and the Fleetmatics Customer Care Team is also always on hand to answer any queries.’
