As announced earlier this year by the Office of the Traffic Commissioner, the new web-based system is intended to make it quicker and more convenient for new and existing vehicle operators to apply for and make changes to their operator licence.
The new service will enable operators to:
- Make applications online
- Amend your details (eg. safety inspection provider)
- Add, update or remove transport managers
- Export your vehicle data
Private beta testing with 50 operators has already been carried out in June, with feedback indicating that users found it easy to manage their licences on the system.
Now the DVLA has issued details of how fleets can get ready for the new service including required browsers to access the service. More details will be revealed next week.
The DVLA also noted that operator licensing self service won’t be available from 4pm on Thursday 10 November until midday on Monday 14 November. Vehicle operators with any urgent vehicle changes during this period should contact [email protected].
