The Wolverhampton-based business offers a fleet of long-bodied Vito 109 CDI models, all of which have already been allocated to customers, the majority of which are sub-contractors that deliver for Amazon. The vehicles feature the Eastgate Commercial livery and a telephone number, which any member of the public can call if the vehicle is being driven irresponsibly, although the firm’s staff have the option of remotely disabling the vehicle to prevent it travelling any further. The vehicles have been supplied to Eastgate on a contract hire agreement with Daimler Fleet Management UK and came with three-year, unlimited mileage warranties and free MobiloVan 24-hour roadside assistance.

Sales manager Buta Singh, who is running the new venture with his sister Baljit Johal, said the firm was conceived as a 100% Mercedes-Benz operation to focus on quality.

He commented: “It was the undeniable quality of the vehicles, coupled with the promise of unbeatable customer service from Daimler Fleet Management, that convinced us to go ahead with this venture.”

The firm is already embarking on expansion plans and has placed a second order for a further 100 Vito 111 CDI vans which will be supplied by Liverpool-based dealer Roanza Truck & Van.

“We want to grow, but in a controlled and sustainable manner,” continued Buta Singh. “We have no plans to rival the biggest players in the rental market, of course, but we are aiming to have between 500 and 1,000 vans on the road by 2019.”
