Showcased at IAA Transportation 2024, the upcoming compact electric van joins the ICE versions launched earlier this year and completes the Transit line-up.

The new Transit and E-Transit Courier were unveiled some 18 months ago but full details of the electric powertrain were limited.

Ford has now confirmed a useable battery capacity of 43kWh for the E-Transit Courier, providing up to 186 miles of range (WLTP). It also delivers a 700kg payload and 25% more load space than the previous-generation Transit Courier.

The brand has also now confirmed that the E-Transit Courier will be able to charge at up to 100kW DC, giving a 10-80% charge in around 23 minutes. Ford has previously said an onboard 11kW charger will allow 10 to 100% charging using AC three-phase power in 5.7 hours.

The E-Transit Courier will also enable ‘one-pedal’ driving with regenerative braking.

Onboard equipment includes a pair of 12-inch displays, one for the driver, the other for the infotainment, which features Ford’s Sync4 cloud-connected in-car communication and entertainment system.

Production of the E-Transit Courier is scheduled to start in late 2024, with customer deliveries in 2025.

At IAA, the E-Transit Courier joins the E‑Transit, E-Transit Custom and Transit Connect PHEV on display, completing the Transit EV line-up.

IAA also marked the global public debut of the all-new Ranger PHEV, while Ford also revealed additions to its connected services with latest end-to-end charging solutions, new logbook features in Ford Pro Telematics and enhanced uptime through FordLiive.
