Ford has kicked off anniversary celebrations for the Transit and given the new Ranger Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) its UK debut as part of the 2025 CV Show in Birmingham.
This year sees the Transit mark six decades of service to businesses and communities across the UK, following the debut of the first vehicle from production lines in 1965.
These days, the Transit has grown from a single model in Europe to an entire family of connected and electrified models delivering to customers worldwide, supported by the Ford Pro ecosystem of software and services.
The latest Transit line up from Ford Pro features four key models – Courier, Connect, Custom and the larger two-tonne Transit – each available with electrified powertrains and full connectivity to Ford Pro’s supporting services.
The latest, fully electrified Transit line-up is on display at this year’s CV Show, supported by historic models from its 60-year history, including a 1965 Mk1 Transit and the record-breaking Supervan 4.2.
This year’s event also brings the UK debut of the Ranger PHEV, complete with an all-new powertrain teaming up Ford’s 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with a 102hp motor, an 11.8kWh (usable) battery and a 10‑speed automatic gearbox.
With 281hp on tap, it’s more powerful than a Ranger 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel while the 697Nm of torque is the most of any production Ranger ever. It also delivers a target EV range above 26 miles and full charge in under four hours using a wall box.
Ranger PHEV comes in XLT, Wildtrak and – unique to PHEV models – Stormtrak series, priced from £40,840.83 (excl. VAT).
It’s joined on the Ford stand by the all-electric Transit line up: the new E-Transit Courier, plug-in hybrid variants of the Transit Connect and Transit Custom, the E-Transit Custom and the new E-Transit enhanced range.
Ford Pro has also launched its Power Promise at the CV Show – a package designed for small business customers looking to purchase a new all-electric commercial vehicle and provide peace of mind when it comes to making the switch to electrification.
The bundle provides a discounted home charger costing £10, or an £825 contribution towards a charging installation at a commercial premises; free five-year service and roadside assistance plan; eight-year high-voltage battery warranty; 12-month free vehicle management software and access to Ford’s expansive Blue Oval Charge Network (BOCN) – all included with the sale of the vehicle. Alternatively, for customers who do not have the ability to install a home charger and do not requirement a commercial charging installation, a £500 saving on the vehicle purchase will be offered.
This year’s CV Show also signifies a deepening of Ford’s partnership with the RNLI Lifeguards, with the automaker becoming the official vehicle supplier with the latest-generation Ford Ranger. Ford has partnered with the RNLI for six years and is now rolling out new and updated Ranger pickups across RNLI Lifeguarded beaches.
The latest, RNLI-branded Ranger is on Ford’s stand in Hall 5.
