Ford gains top manufacturer title at Van Fleet World Honours

The brand took the Van Manufacturer of the Year title for the second successive year, with Van Fleet World managing editor John Kendall commenting: ‘Not a difficult choice for the judges given the comprehensive renewal of Ford's van range that is still going on. To date they have all been class-leading to drive, too, which makes Ford a worthy winner.’

Ford was also heavily present in the individual model awards, with the Transit Connect named Best New Van and Best Small Van whilst the Transit Custom took the best Medium Van and the Security Award amongst the Editor’s Awards. Meanwhile the Ford Ranger was named Best Pick-Up.

Receiving the awards for Ford, Phil Hollins, director fleet operations, said: ‘In little over a year the market-leading Ford Transit range has been renewed and expanded to four models, from the new compact Transit Courier and Transit Connect, through Transit Custom to Transit, with its cargo capacity of more than two tonnes. It is a range of commercial vehicles of which Ford is justly proud, and we are delighted to receive this recognition.’

The Van Fleet World Honours also saw Volkswagen named as Most Improved Van Manufacturer.
