It’s invested over £350,000 into the new vehicles, which are going live at its Leeds, Sheffield, Stockton and Birtley centres.

The new vehicles are equipped with System Edstrom racking, precision-fitted and designed by SM UK.

Richard Popplewell, dealer principal at Ford and Slater DAF Sheffield and Leeds, said: “SM UK has done an outstanding job from acquiring the vans on our behalf, designing and converting the interior to meet our requirements.”

Popplewell added: “These seven vehicles will play a vital role in providing a rapid roadside response, strengthening our commitment to delivering consistently high aftersales service to truck operators.

Steve MacDonald, chairman of SM UK, added: “We have a strong team of designers and engineers who genuinely go that extra mile, making sure we provide a vehicle spec that works for the client whether we are providing one or a hundred vehicles.”

Tom Fenton, van conversion divisional manager at SM UK, continued: “Ford & Slater are a long-standing client of SM UK and as with any client we always build to impress; our solutions are high spec and often bespoke even when planning a full turn-key solution.”
