The model tested was the T5 Kombi, which scored 79% for adult occupant protection, 74% for child occupant, 32% for pedestrian safety and 57% for safety assist.
In its notes, the organisation said its tests for adult protection revealed marginal protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision.
It also noted for safety assist that the T5 has electronic stability control as standard equipment on passenger-carrying and commercial variants. A seatbelt reminder for the driver is also standard equipment. A speed limitation device is not available on the T5.
