The new vans and trucks join 77 other Fraikin vehicles within Lyreco’s nationwide fleet.
All Renault vans have been specified with reversing cameras and bleepers with the aim of preventing accidents and improving working conditions for drivers. To help meet Lyreco’s Eco Future target of slashing its carbon footprint by 20% by 2017, the vehicles have additionally been speed limited to 62mph to further increase fuel economy.
Under the contract, Fraikin will provide a full range of fleet management services, including O-licence compliance, MOT testing, roadside assistance and servicing. Substitute vehicles will also be supplied as required to ensure minimised downtime.
Commenting on the deal, Jennie Lucas, national distribution manager, Lyreco, said: ‘We have worked with Fraikin for the last eight years, and we have a high level of trust in our relationship. The professionalism of the team and the way they provide support and leading service levels makes Fraikin the perfect fit for our business. They know how important our guarantees are to our customers, and they make sure we don’t disappoint.’
Also central to the contract is the continuity of support provided by Fraikin, with monthly performance meetings and dedicated contract management, along with expert advice on all new industry developments and legislation.
Peter Backhouse, CEO, Fraikin, added: ‘When Lyreco approached us with their new requirements, our deep understanding of how they operate, combined with our unsurpassed industry knowledge, meant we were able to deliver a true fleet solution for the future. We’re delighted to help a highly valued customer deliver on their promises to their customers and CSR goals.’
