FTA announces 2013 Scottish Supply Chain Conference

Last year's event saw the launch of the Scottish Logistics Report and examined the logistics challenges facing Scotland in the evolving European and global market places. This year's event, (partnered by DWF Biggart Baillie and  supported by CILT), reviews and develops these key themes, and will also examine one of the primary challenges facing freight and logistics in Scotland during 2014; keeping deliveries moving before and during the Glasgow Commonwealth Games (23 July – 3 August 2014).

The Freight Transport Association says that attendees will gain a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities impacting on the logistics sector over the coming year, and will hear first-hand from those organising the Games about the effect on the supply chains of Glasgow, the rest of Scotland and further afield.

Key sessions will include:

  • Review of the Scottish Logistics Report
  • Planning for the Games (role of Organising Committee/Glasgow City Council/Transport Scotland)
  • Lessons from London Olympics 2012
  • Freight routing and deliveries
  • FTA support and advice

The event costs £75 + VAT per delegate.
