FTA conference to address Energy Audits

The conference, which takes place on 13 May at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, will be chaired by Justin Laney, general manager – central transport at John Lewis Partnership, and sponsored by Bridgestone, DAF Trucks, Intermodality, PTV Group and Texaco.  

The programme also includes a keynote address from the UK Committee on Climate Change on decarbonising freight, the launch of the Logistics Carbon Review 2015, and a range of workshops focusing on alternative fuels, collaboration, city logistics and freight modal shift featuring FTA staff and members.

Also taking place on the day will be the presentation of the LCRS Awards by John Parkinson, director – motoring, freight and London at the Department for Transport.  There are six awards categories for 2015, including one new category specifically for those companies within the LCRS membership with smaller fleets.

The awards categories are:

  • Fuel efficient operator of the year (sponsored by Bridgestone)
  • Leader in logistics carbon reduction (sponsored by DAF Trucks)
  • Excellence in modal shift (sponsored by Intermodality)
  • Smaller fleet operator of the year (sponsored by PTV Group)
  • Green fuel and technology operator of the year (sponsored by Texaco)
  • Logistics carbon innovator of the year (sponsored by FTA)
