As part of its “Logistics for Cycling Campaign”, FTA recently published “Shared Vision”’, a document setting out examples of the good work logistics companies are doing to improve safety on the roads for vulnerable road users.
The document gives a flavour of the range of work that many companies are doing, include upgrading vehicles, developing improved training and taking part in community education initiatives with cyclists and in schools.
Christopher Snelling, FTA’s head of urban logistics policy, said: ‘Road Safety Week highlights how important it is for everyone to share the roads safely, and with 'Shared Vision' we are seeking to promote within and outside our industry the good practice that goes on today.
'Our members are investing their money, staff and vehicle time in taking actions that they believe will improve the safety of everyone on the roads – all above and beyond what anyone is requiring of them through regulation.’
