FTA pushes ahead with switch to new Logistics UK branding

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) is to rebrand as Logistics UK from 27 July 2020, reflecting its industry-wide support.

The Freight Transport Association said the new Logistics UK branding would tie up with its existing work on representing logistics in the UK

The move had been announced in February this year but postponed during the Covid-19 crisis as the organisation focused on supporting its members, including the development of a member-to-member platform.

The new branding will show how the FTA represents the whole logistics sector; speaking earlier this year chief executive David Wells said the new name would ensure the organisation’s branding would tie up with its existing work on representing logistics in the UK.

The FTA’s focus and services, support and advice it provides to its 18,000+ member businesses will remain the same.

David Wells, chief executive at FTA, said: “FTA is strong because of its size and scale and because we already represent all of logistics, a very large sector critical to the success of UK plc. The name change to Logistics UK is a natural progression and makes it more obvious to stakeholders, like policymakers and young people looking to develop a career in logistics, that we are the only business group that represents the whole industry. I believe this change will strengthen our position, and give us a great opportunity to achieve even more for members in the months and years to come.”

The new website,, will be live from 27 July 2020. Phone numbers will remain the same and email addresses will divert automatically.
