FTA Van Excellence briefings get thumbs up from delegates

Already the association has announced that the events in Nottingham, Weybridge and Glasgow were such a success than an extra date has been added in Bristol on 7 June – with a few places left.

The association has also published feedback from the events run so far, including: “A brilliant informative day”, “amazing choice of speakers and topics” and “gave me lots of information to take back to my drivers when talking about safety”.

The additional briefing takes place at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol and gives van operators a chance to explore best practice across a range of key areas including road safety, the psychology of driving and driver distraction.

The event takes a closer look at the way drivers’ actions can impact on how a fleet operation works, and reflects on how planning and consideration can improve the way they work and the image of the van driver in the UK.

Mark Cartwright, FTA’s head of vans and LCVs, said: “This year’s briefings have been more successful than ever, with some hard-hitting content that really brings home messages such as the true impact of crashes and the consequences of driver distraction.

“We’re delighted to be able to add another date to our calendar and bring this thought-provoking event to the south west.”
