Galliford Try signs up Europcar Vans for flexible rental

Construction company Galliford Try has awarded a new contract to Europcar Vans to supply flexible rental vehicles, helping to fulfil project requirements while meeting its sustainability goals.

Galliford Try has now signed up Europcar to supply vans as well as cars

The new deal builds on an existing car rental partnership with Europcar that spans more than a decade, and will provide Galliford Try with commercial vehicles for large civil engineering and construction projects, ranging from airports to road building. This includes supplying vehicles nationwide at short notice while the new partnership will also aid with Galliford Try’s business agenda by supplying low-CO2 vehicles, including hybrids.

The Europcar Van Supersites, which offer a range of specialist services, also give Galliford Try the confidence that any special equipment required can be fitted efficiently, from beacons to tow bars and roof racks.

Europcar Vans’ recent partnership with Rivus (formerly BT Fleet Solutions) was another important factor in the contract win. The contract provides a tailor-made Service, Maintenance and Repair (SMR) service nationwide to Europcar Vans’ customers, ensuring  vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum and backed by 24/7 vehicle support.

Since awarding the deal, Galliford Try has already reported a marked improvement in the mobility and efficiency of its onsite personnel.

The Galliford Try Fleet Team commented: “Having worked with Europcar for our car hire requirements for more than 10 years, it was good to know that its van and specialist vehicle offering had grown extensively. We were highly impressed with the range of vehicles available on site at its Birmingham Van & Truck Centre opened earlier this year, and the speed at which vehicles could be fitted out with specific accessories like beacons, tow bars and roof racks.

“As we work on so many different projects at one time, with different numbers of contractors and staff, our vehicle requirements can also differ and change. It’s great to know that the Europcar Van Supersites are strategically located along the length of the country, ensuring kitted out vans specific to our requirements, can be delivered in a very short time frame.”

Stuart Russell, commercial vehicle sales director, Europcar Mobility Group UK, added:  “Galliford Try was looking for a commercial vehicle partner that could combine scale with personal service. Our comprehensive fleet, encompassing everything from standard vans to Chapter 8 and liveried vehicles addressed the firm’s mobility needs. And our account management team, backed up by the van specialists at each of our supersites gave Galliford Try the confidence that we could respond to their very specific needs.”
