German telematics firm Vimcar expands to UK

German telematics firm Vimcar is launching in the UK, bringing a new way for SMEs to cut costs and streamline operations.

The Vimcar Fleet Geo product is designed to enable SMEs to substantially reduce the amount of time, labour and money needed to manage their vehicles

The business is already present in German-speaking markets in Europe – some 90,000 vehicles are already equipped with its SaaS solutions – and says its Vimcar Fleet Geo product can particularly enable small- and medium-sized fleets to substantially reduce the amount of time, labour and money needed to manage their vehicles.

“The timing of the expansion might come as a surprise – however, despite Brexit and the coronavirus, this was a deliberate choice and one made with complete conviction. We believe in the British market and in Britain’s small- and medium-sized companies,” explained Andreas Schneider, founder and CEO of Vimcar.

Features of the product include real-time vehicle tracking, digital theft protection and geo-fencing. The OBD dongle can be self-installed and data can be managed via a smartphone or desktop computer.

UK country manager Ronald Clancy added: “Our products are developed specially for the needs of medium-sized fleets with up to 200 vehicles. We know exactly what this target group wants and needs. So it is especially important to us that our products are easy to use.”
