Glass’s appoints Rupert Pontin head of valuations

Pontin has spent the last 18 months in position as chief car editor at Glass’s and has more than 29 years’ experience in the management, valuation and strategic remarketing of new and used vehicles.

He has worked on behalf of a number of key automotive manufacturers and leasing companies including British Car Auctions and Car Shop, in addition to running his own successful independent used car retail business.

In his new role at Glass’s, he will now be responsible for the accuracy of data in all target sectors, and ensuring the business has a robust and visible presence in all areas of the market.

He commented: ‘This is an exciting time for Glass’s. Working in a fast paced and ever developing market means we must be committed to working closely with our customers to provide solutions that really make a difference to their business. With the launch of our Digital Guide and Forecast tools this year, we are consistently bringing new products to market – accurate data is at the heart of those products, and I look forward to leading the editorial team and working as part of  Glass’s management team to keep driving the business forward.’

Ed Hummel, managing director at Glass’s, added: ‘I’d like to congratulate Rupert on his recent promotion. He has a real drive and determination to keep improving the data we offer, and I have no doubt his ambitious plans for growth will be realised over the coming months and years.’
