Gov Facilities Services Ltd to roll out new fleet with help of Kinto

Gov Facilities Services Ltd (GFSL), part of the Ministry of Justice, is making the switch to fully managed leasing to update its fleet and start going electric with the help of Kinto.

Gov Facilities Services Ltd (GFSL) is updating its fleet of cars, LCVs and HGVs under the four-year deal with Kinto UK

GFSL, which provides facility maintenance services to prisons across the South of England, has historically used daily rental vehicles for its fleet of cars, vans and HGVs.

But it went to market last year to explore the benefits of switching to a full fleet management and leasing provision.

Following the cost exercise, GFSL has signed up Kinto UK on a four-year deal, which has seen it a carry out a full fleet review and consultation, and make bespoke vehicle recommendation lists based on GFSL’s specific requirements, working closely with leading industry providers.

The work was led by Paul Moon, public sector development manager at Kinto UK, who commented: “I am delighted to be working with GFSL on the delivery of their new fleet, it has been a pleasure to complete the exercise to ensure the fleet is fit for purpose and delivers not only on cost but each vehicle role and requirements.

“We have also begun to look at how GFSL can introduce electric vehicles into their fleet, supporting them on their aspirations to reduce carbon output.”

The work has already led to significant cost savings at GFSL, helping it to win a new contract.

Stephen Carter, commercial manager at GFSL, said: “The approach Kinto delivered was true collaboration. The knowledge and support provided by Paul Moon and his wider team was outstanding and their proposal demonstrated value for money which resulted in a compliant GFSL contract being awarded. GFSL are very much looking forward to working with Kinto to roll out the new fleet and developing our relationship.”
