GPS tracking provides noticeable fuel consumption reduction

A family-run business in Wales says it’s cut costs while improving driver safety with the help of GPS tracking.

The Cardiff Window Cleaning Company Ltd recently signed up to Trakm8prime for its three vans and company car after testing the technology in a 30-day free trial and has reported a noticeable reduction in its fuel consumption as well as enhanced customer service through being able to a rapid response based on knowing exactly where vehicles are at any given time.

The company also says it’s seen clear safety improvements through driver behaviour monitoring. The management team have a log-in to analyse driver scores, while employees are able to view their performance via the Trakm8prime smartphone app.

Emilio Evangelista, one of Joseph’s drivers, said: “Initially the thought of my driving being tracked wasn’t really appealing. However, since having the tracker fitted I feel my driving has definitely improved.

“I feel more responsible to ensure that my driving is safe and courteous to other road users. I also enjoy being able to review my driving at the end of the week and see where I can make improvements.”
