Grand opening of Ford's new Fleet and Commercial Vehicle centre in Dagenham

Spread across two acres in Orion Park, the new Transit Centre replaces the previous TrustFord Dagenham site in River Road. The company employs approximately 125 people in the Dagenham area, and the new site represents a further £2.5m investment in the region.

The facility has been built with its environmental impact in-mind, and includes a breadth of energy efficient features, solar panels, recycled waste oil heating in the workshop, underfloor heating in the showroom, natural ventilation (solar reflecting glass in the showroom, and LED lighting.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on 21 January, attended by local dignitaries, customers and partners, Steve Hood, chairman and CEO at TrustFord, commented: “We have a very long and proud heritage in Dagenham and this new investment in the area marks another important milestone in our business. The TrustFord Dagenham Transit Centre enables us to provide an exceptional level of service to our fleet and retail customers across the whole of London.”

The opening also heralds the launch of the new TrustFord Mobile Servicing offering, which is designed to minimise the downtime of necessary maintenance and warranty work by visiting customers at their own business premises. With eight mobile workshops serving Greater London and operated by Ford-approved technicians, the new service will be the UK’s largest mobile service fleet.
