Hard-top manufacturer expands range to meet demand

The range has been expanded to meet increasing demand from industries for versatile commercial vehicles.

The Truckman Utility Top is now available for the L200’s Double Cab Long Bed and Club Cab models, the Ford Ranger’s Double Cab and Super Cab models and the Toyota Hilux Double Cab.  A Single Cab version for the Ford Ranger will also be released later this year.

The British-built Truckman Utility Top range has been specifically designed for the Mitsubishi L200, Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux to support industries such as the utilities, construction and telecoms, which operate fleets of off-road and multi-purpose vehicles.

According to Auto Styling Truckman, the Truckman Utility Top creates vehicles with the storage capacity and security of a van, while maintaining a pick-ups multi-terrain driving capabilities. This enables technicians to access off-road environments without compromising access to tools and equipment.

Featuring a solid bulkhead for improved security and driver protection, as well as a sandwich panel roof for additional strength and insulation, the addition of the Truckman Utility Top also creates a vehicle with extensive storage space, but keeps the vehicle’s height at less than two metres.

Racking and storage systems can be installed creating an organised space for transporting tools and equipment as well as a multi-purpose workspace for technicians. The Truckman Utility Tops roof, which can carry a static weight of 100kg, provides further storage space when fitted with carrying systems.

To allow vehicle converters and coach builders to install additional lights and alarms systems, the Truckman Utility Top has a built-in electrical conduit for easy wiring and a white gloss interior for effective wet cleaning.

Commenting on the expansion of the range, Mike Wheeler, managing director of Auto Styling Truckman, said: ‘As a result of rising commercial vehicle sales, we are seeing increased demand for our durable and robust hardtops, particularly from those sectors benefiting from the upturn in the UK’s economy such as construction.

'Expanding the Utility Top range to encompass L200, Ranger and Hilux models offers fleet managers a wider choice when specifying vehicles that are required to access hard to reach, off-road locations.'
