Gemma Dickson, who now becomes group managing director, is part of the restructured Operational Board

Nigel Schroder will move to the role of executive chairman at the van and fleet solutions business, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, supported on the Executive Board by Jason Rogerson and Anthony Moss, who will take up the roles of executive directors.

The Executive Board will provide governance and strategic direction to the Operational Board, ensuring the company’s culture and brand is maintained and promoted.

The Operational Board will be headed up by former group sales and marketing director Gemma Dickson – who now becomes group managing director – along with Anthony McKeague, group finance director, Mike Cooke, group fleet director and Danielle Davison, group commercial director.

Herd became an employee-owned business in December 2022 and prides itself on the group’s investment and succession programmes, promoting into key roles from within the current team.

Nigel Schroder commented: “Over the last three years we have created a young and dynamic Operational Board. The team headed by Gemma, an entrepreneur with exceptional leadership skills, are well placed to drive the business to achieve our aggressive growth targets over the next five years.”

Dickson started her career at Enterprise Rent-A-Car before joining Herd in 2017. In her previous role as group sales director, she was instrumental in the growth of the Herd B2B fleet, which has increased by over 600% in the last seven years.

Schroder added: “I am really looking forward to seeing and supporting the Operational Board over the coming years and seeing what they will achieve. Gemma, Ant, Mike, and Danielle make an exceptionally strong team and are well set to smash through all targets across our Herd Synergy range.”

Herd Synergy includes three key service lines: vehicle rental, fleet management and remarketing, offering a ‘cradle-to-grave’ fleet mobility solution to exactly suit the needs of any business.

Backed by its strong growth plans and new board enhancements, the Herd Group is dedicated to delivering the very best fleet mobility solutions across the UK.
