HMRC ‘Spy Van’ to star at CV Show

A 1988 covert surveillance van first registered to HMRC is to appear on the Manheim stand at the CV Show.

The ‘Spy Van’ was restored to celebrate Transit’s 50th birthday.

With just 48,000 miles on the clock – believed to be genuine, the Transit was operated in the South East, North West, North East and Scotland.

The van was bought by James Davis, Manheim’s director of commercial vehicles, in 2014 and restored, complete with concealed cameras, to celebrate the Ford Transit’s 50th birthday. On 22 May 2017, the ‘Spy Van’ will be auctioned off without reserve at Manheim’s Shepshed commercial vehicle action centre, with all proceeds are going directly to the Alzheimer’s Society.

The restoration of the 1988 Ford Transit can be revisited on its Facebook page by searching for ‘TheRestorationVanMan’. To help with the fundraising, visit: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/James-Davis22
