IAM & Lightfoot partner for fleet driver behaviour solution

The IAM Lightfoot package is based on a bespoke one-to-one IAM Drive & Survive coaching session for every driver to identify and address any potential weaknesses in the delegate’s driving style, promote greater understanding of how attitudes can affect driver behaviour and provide guidance on how to observe and react to driving risks.

Each vehicle is then fitted with the Lightfoot in-cab driver behaviour training device, which has been developed as an alternative to traditional telematics and provides proactive, real-time feedback in-cab through both visual and voice prompts.

The driver has two opportunities to remedy any short-term poor driving behaviour (indicated by warning prompts). Where warnings are received, immediate improvement in driving style wipes the warnings and resets the gauge. Only if a third warning prompt is received will a ‘driving event’ (or ‘violation’) be recorded and reported on.

Each week, Lightfoot emails the fleet manager a straightforward table showing driver performance with no further analysis required. IAM Lightfoot customers are also allocated a dedicated account manager who monitors the weekly reports and identifies if any drivers require additional training.

The new solution will be launched at the Health & Safety Event in Birmingham, on Tuesday 24 March.

Mark Roberts, managing director of Ashwoods Lightfoot Ltd, said: “We’re delighted to have teamed up with IAM to deliver this industry-first package which provides a long-term solution to driver behaviour and reduces the workload of the fleet manager. We anticipate that the package is going to be very popular and we’re looking forward to launching it at the Health & Safety Event next week.”
